Cobalt Standard

The Standard profile is suitable for every situation, especially for portraits, containing a specific colour correction for skin tones.

Cobalt Neutral

The Neutral profile preserves the same contrast as the Standard, but without the colour correction.

Cobalt Flat (DNG Basic pack only)

Same as Neutral without the contrast curve, useful for studio shots.

Cobalt Repro

Our linear and calibrated profile; using this profile give you the basic linear information straight from the camera sensor.

Cobalt Repro

As a landscape photographer, you understand the importance of having access to linear profiles. The advantage of using linear data from the sensor as a starting point for editing is the added margin for making adjustments without sacrificing image quality. By providing a calibrated linear profile, we offer our customers the best possible starting point for their beloved cameras, free from any corrections or contrast curves. This technology allows for extended editing capabilities, ensuring that your creative vision is realized with the highest quality possible.

Cobalt Colour

Introducing our new profile exclusively designed for DNG packs on Adobe Systems. Our profile elevates the look of your pictures, giving them a better-than-just-calibrated appeal. We have put in a lot of effort to cater to all your needs, making sure the extended gamut, coherent signature and pleasing results for both landscape and portrait pictures are met. Our profile boasts a contrast boost and saturated light skin tones with red details, while also adding a touch of optimization for darker skin tones.

We are proud to announce that all colour profiles are now optimized for both light and darker skin tones, ensuring a pleasant outcome in every common situation. Trust us to give your pictures a more appealing look with our new profile.

Below is the download link to this specific profile, you need one of our basic DNG packs installed to be able to use it.
Now version 1.2 is available with more refinements and a bulletproof resistance to any posterization.

Our Method

– 600 samples tested (Xrite SG has 140 samples )

– Two main illuminants d65 and StdA (only on DNG basic )

– Different transformation than the Bradford model used by Adobe for the d50 calculation.

– For DNG basic the internal forward matrix is limited in the Prophoto/ Human Locus in order to avoid posterizations.

– Looktables and ICC (Capture One Basic) are adjusted to be relative to any different contrast curve.

– Transformation model CIECAM02 (better tonal separation)

– Proprietary main colourimetric stadium, to build profiles we use DcamProf.

Sensitivity metamerism index,
a number that says everything.

ADOBE D65 ISO 17321: 65

COBALT D65 ISO 17321: 79

The sensitivity metamerism index (SMI) is an essential measure of a camera’s ability to reproduce accurate colours, as defined in ISO standard 17321.

To assess the colour response results of your camera, you can find numerous reviews online using a standard Color Checker of 24 patches (on the left). However, our test uses the impressive HR-1 target with 1131 patches (on the right) and a Sony A7rii camera.

It’s important to note that modern cameras have excellent colour quality, and it’s the colour profiles that make the real difference. So, forget about the old-school phrase “this camera has better colours” and educate yourself about the impact of colour profiles. Trust us; it will revolutionize your photography!

The quality of our basic profiles has been tested to impress

Our current generation of v2.1 base profiles has obtained the Fadgi 4-star rating on the Color SG target.
“FADGI is a collaborative effort started in 2007 by federal agencies to articulate common sustainable practices and guidelines for digitized and born-digital historical, archival and cultural content.

Our profiles adhere to the highest standard, and our DeltaE significantly surpasses that of standard profiles (as evidenced on the right).
