Cobalt Elite film emulations
In the past, our Kodak and Fuji film packs were renowned for capturing the unique mood of film emulsions. However, we have now taken our emulation to the next level with our high-end emulation pack. This isn’t just a mood anymore – it’s a scientific reproduction of your favourite film emulsions, brought to life on digital. Our team has spent months meticulously reducing every manageable variable in the acquisition process to ensure that we are able to offer a true emulation of these legendary film packs on digital as you can see here. We are proud to be the first in the market to offer this level of accuracy and authenticity in our digital emulations. With our high-end emulation pack, you can now experience the look and feel of your favourite film emulsions, without the hassle of traditional film processing and you can also mix digital and analog shooting keeping the same colour output.
For all available film emulations, we have captured both accurate colourimetry and contrast curve, which provides a higher initial contrast compared to the original raw file, as we aim to emulate the lower dynamic range of film. Expect almost final results with just the selection of your chosen profile if you want to enjoy accurate emulation.
Alternatively, make adjustments to the raw file while keeping in mind that you are using a Cobalt profile designed to maintain colour consistency even after intense post-production adjustments.
Each colour profile is available in balanced and not-balanced versions. The balanced (B) version produces results comparable to a development and scan process that follows a fully calibrated colour workflow with the neutralization of the grey axis. The not-balanced (NB) version is acquired without considering a complete white balance calibration during scanning, providing a product familiar to those who have scanned at home or in a lab to enjoy the original mood of the emulsion.
We also added the linear versions for an advanced editing room.
Cobalt Neutral

Cobalt Elite Not Balanced

Cobalt Elite Balanced

Lightroom and ACR
Our emulations work using a colour profile
Every emulsion has two different versions:
-Balanced std/linear
-Not balanced std/linear
To enhance the colour output, it is essential to address the issue of improper white balance during the digitalization phase, we made the Balanced (B) version following the whole process.
The Not Balanced (NB) version is done to replicate the typical output of scans that do not conform entirely to the colourimetric process, which is a common occurrence in numerous laboratories and it follows the natural casts of the emulsion.
Included is an editing pack of presets, please read the tutorial to learn more.
